About The Event

Swim For Hope is an annual charity swim event that debuted in 2011 at SAFRA Tampines. By 2014, the well-received fundraiser expanded to five SAFRA clubs; and then extended to three days the following year. The parent-and-child category was introduced in 2016, encouraging more children below the age of 13 to join and do their part for charity.
The purpose of this event is to raise money for the respective beneficiaries and this year’s donation will go to President’s Challenge, Rainbow Centre, SAF Care Fund, Singapore Swimming Association and Special Olympics Singapore. The donations will make up from the event registration fees, online donation, sales of More Than a Box, individual and corporate donations.
Registration period for Swim For Hope 2022 will be from 1 Aug 2022 to 30 Sep 2022. Swim period starts from 1 Sep 2022 and participants will have to clock in their swim distance latest by 30 Oct 2022 at 16:30HRS.
A new category “Team Category” is added to encourage bonding activities. In celebration of NS55 and SAFRA50, participants who registered for NS55KM (open individual category) or 250KM (team category) and complete their swim will receive a special finisher t-shirt. As our mission this year is to benefit individuals with special needs and less fortunate, in order to raise more funds this year, new features such as crowdfunding and the sale of “More Than a Box” have been added as well.
The event this year will be in Hybrid format whereby participants can choose to clock their distance at their own location and time, and submit the distance online OR complete their distance via combination of virtual and physical on-site swim. Participant can do their physical on-site swim at selected SAFRA Club(s) during the weekends of Oct 2022.
Upon registration, participants may indicate their preferred choice of the swim mode.

Please note that the cut-off time to submit swim distance will be on 30 Oct 2022 at 16:30HRS.
Unfortunately, our current platform does not support syncing of the underwater smartwatch. Participants can still use the underwater smartwatch to track their swim distance and submit the record via the event portal.
You will appear on the leaderboard once you have submitted your first swim record. Subsequent swim record submission will be accumulated and reflected accordingly.
Please write in to [email protected] with a screenshot of the suspicious entry and investigation will be carried out. To ensure that the event runs smoothly, we will be conducting random checks on the submission of swim distance periodically.
Yes, this is not a competitive marathon. Participants are free to use their own swimming aids to complete their swim distance.
Although this event is not a competition marathon, participants are strongly encouraged to complete the swim distance based on the category they have registered.

Participants who have chosen full virtual format may swim at their preferred pools at any time. For participants who opted for hybrid option, they will need to complete the last 1km of their swim at the SAFRA swimming pool and slot that they have selected (either during registration or through “My Profile”).

If you have a swim watch, you may use it for easy tracking of your swim. For participants who do not own a swim watch, we recommend to check with the swimming pool staff/lifeguard on the length of the pool and base the swim distance on no. of laps swam x length of swimming pool. For example, if the swimming pool length is 50m and no. of laps swam is 20 laps, the total swim distance will be at 1000m (1km).

All SAFRA Members who sign up for the event will be given a $10 Swim For Hope e-voucher which can be used in selected F&B tenants at SAFRA Clubs (SAFRA Mount Faber, SAFRA Jurong, SAFRA Tampines, SAFRA Toa Payoh, SAFRA Yishun, SAFRA Punggol).
